G. KELLY is featuring in a new book and you can help shape it.
My name is Melanie McGrath. Our East London heritage matters and I need your help to preserve it. I’m the author of two previous East End books, Silvertown and Hopping. For the next few months I’m going to be working on a new project about life on the Roman Road and at G Kelly and I’d like to hear from anyone who has lived and/or worked around the Roman Road and who has been or is a customer of the shop and is happy to share their memories of life, love, work, family and pies, however small, however short, however ‘ordinary.’
Drop in sessions Friday 12th & Sunday 28th February 11:00-15:00
Please feel free to contact me via email firstname.lastname@example.org with a contact number or email address and a couple of lines telling me who you are and how you know the Roman Road and I’ll get back to you. I’ll also be ‘dropping-in’ to G Kelly on Friday 12 February and Sunday 28 February 11:00 – 15:00 so please come to the shop and say hello. For those who no longer live in the area, I’m happy to travel. I’m going to be interviewing from now until after the summer, but the sooner you can get in touch with me the better.
It’s great if you’re happy to speak to me in your own name but if you’d rather talk to me on the basis of anonymity in print that’s OK too. You can even choose your own name!
We’ll be launching the book in spring 2018 at G Kelly and anyone who features in the book will, of course, receive a free copy.
